LogDoor Menus

This chapter provides a summary of LogDoor's menus. For each command there is a brief description of that command and a link to more detailed documentation.

File

• New Task - Create a new task.
• Open Task - Open an existing task.
• Close Task - Close the task whose status window is frontmost.
• Close All Tasks - Close all tasks currently open.

Edit

• The usual text editing commands (Cut, Copy, etc). Active in any LogDoor dialogs where text can be entered.

Task - The task menu's commands apply only to the frontmost task.

• Run/Suspend - Toggle between running and suspending the task. Also interrupt report writing.
• Input File... - Select the task's input log file.
• Scheduling... - Bring up the scheduling dialog, used to:
  • select processing mode
  • set summary report scheduling
  • set whether or not to start processing on opening the task
• Processing Options... - Bring up the "Processing Options" dialog, used to:
  • set the task's root
  • specify where to keep data for root-level files
  • set the number of days used for "Old" data
  • set the number of minutes used for visits
• Output Files... - Bring up the "Output Files" dialog, used to:
  • select the task's output folder
  • set task default options for:
    • what files to output - log files and summary report files
    • what suffixes to use for output files - log files and summary report files
    • report options
    • whether to trigger AppleScript on report writing
    • which AppleScript to use
• Items
  • Create New Site... - Create a new site.
  • Remove Item - Remove a site item.
  • Site Options... - Choose whether to use a task's default output options, or override them for a given site (log files and summary reports)
  • Create Task for Site... - Create a new task that uses a selected site as the task's root, and uses the selected site's output log file as the task's input log file. Used to obtain detailed site information.
  • Show Overall Summary - Show summary window for the task as a whole. Same as double-clicking "total" line in the status window's item list.
  • Show Item Summary - Show summary window for a selected item. Same as double-clicking an item in the status window's item list.
• Reset Summary Data - Reset a task's summary data.
• Checkpoint Now - Write a task's data out to disk now.
• Write Summaries Now - Write a task's summary reports now.

Windows

• Sort Status Window By - Sort the site list in the status window by:
  • item name
  • hits
  • visits
  • bytes transferred
  • errors
• Refresh Status Window - Update now the information displayed in the task's status window.
• Configure Status Window... - Include or exclude major portions of the status window:
  • processing information
  • activity graph (also set the time scale of the activity graph)
  • item list
• Activity Log - Show/hide the activity log.
• Plug-in Info - Show/hide the plug-in info window, used with AppleShare IP.
• Plug-in Log - Show/hide the plug-in log window, used with AppleShare IP.
• task list - a list of tasks currently open (running or suspended). Select a particular task to open its status window (if closed) and move that window to the front.
